Equity Residential is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that invests in apartments. One of the largest owners of apartments in the U.S., the company owns or has investments in 310 properties (80,407 units) in Southern California, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., New York City, Boston, Seattle, Denver, Atlanta, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Austin. Equity Residential was founded in 1969 and is headquartered in Chicago, IL.
