Celanese Corporation produces 25% of the annual global production of acetic acid. It is also the world's largest producer of vinyl acetate monomer. Celanese operates 25 production plants and six research centers in 11 countries. Formerly known as Hoechst Celanese, the company was founded in 1918 and is headquartered in Irving, TX.
