Top 20 Long Term Stocks

The Zen Ratings has been a game changer for the growing legion of investors on our website.

Truly our inbox “runneth over” with words of praise and tales of improved investment success.

However, most folks are using the Zen Ratings for more active trading.

This makes perfect sense given the daily update of ratings based on different 115 factors pointing out the most timely stocks.

So that begs the question: How should long term investors leverage the Zen Ratings?

Gladly, the starting process for finding the best stocks is the same. And that is to focus on A rated stocks which are the top 5% of the stocks analyzed by the Zen Ratings.

These stocks have superior fundamental profiles which begets more earnings beats and more share price gains over time.

Meaning the long term investor is not interested in quickly clipping short term trading profits every 1 to 3 months like the active traders tend to do.

It is about riding the earnings momentum that should show up with each subsequent quarterly earnings report pushing share prices ever higher.

Consider selling about 25% of your position when shares rise 50% or more.

Then consider selling another quarter when you get above 100%. Now you are playing with the houses money!

The time to sell the rest is when the Zen Ratings falls to C or lower as the odds of outperformance have now greatly diminished.

Then move that money to another promising A rated stock to keep pressing your advantage.

My Top 20 Long Term Stocks

For those who want a bit more help in this process, then please consider exploring my Zen Investor portfolio.

This is a marriage of the fundamental prowess of the Zen Ratings with my 40+ years of investing experience.

This means I have enjoyed 8 bull markets and weathered 7 bear markets over those many years.

Everything from run of the mill recessions to the bursting of the tech bubble in 2000 to the Great Recession of 2008 and most recently the Covid Crash of 2020.

All those valuable lessons learned go into shaping my market outlook…which begets a specific game plan to generate outperformance…which all culminates in a hand picked portfolio of the top 20 long term stocks.

And so far in 2026 this portfolio of 20 stocks is up +18.9% year to date.

That is not a typo.

Even as the S&P 500 is treading water at breakeven on the year, the Zen Investor portfolio is swimming way ahead of the pack.

That is because we have stayed away from overpriced mega caps and AI stocks knowing that this tired game plan is now over.

Instead we focused on healthy growing stocks trading at attractive prices in favorable industries.

This is the tried and true path to long term investment success.
