Micron Technology (MU): Is This Stock Better Than NVDA?

In general, I veer away from adding large cap stocks to the Zen Investor portfolio.

That’s because I am looking for serious growth that leads to a doubling of shares. That is much more common in small and mid cap companies.

However, I could not overlook that Micron Technology (MU) is also enjoying robust growth thanks to the AI revolution. Just in this case we can buy shares for a fraction of the valuation lavished on peers like NVDA.

So even though the company is set to enjoy greater than 300% year over year earnings growth it only trades with a forward PE of 12.

Let’s compare that to NVDA who is expected to grow a robust 71% this year (just not as robust as Micron)...but trades at a much steeper PE of 23.

Better growth and better value for Micron.

MU also scores much higher than NVDA according to the Zen Ratings…in fact they score higher than over 4,500 stocks with their A rating.

Actually that undersells the case for Micron. They are not just A rated in the top 5% of stocks…not even top 1% either. They are actually in the top 0.6% of all stocks based upon the 115 factor fundamental analysis.

That because of widespread strength displayed across the Component Grades:

Top 9% Value (even after the tremendous gains this past year)

Top 8% Momentum

Top 7% Sentiment (Smart Money still on board)

Top 6% Growth

Top 4% Financials

All of this proves that the company is chock full of fundamental goodness that greatly increases the odds that they stay on their beat and raise earnings path pushing shares much higher.

Some of you might be thinking that this is your typical memory chip boom and bust cycle. Indeed that has happened many times before. Yet there is good reason to believe that this cycle is a whole lot different.

That is because the AI boom has led to such tremendous demand that Micron has already sold out ALL THE MEMORY CHIPS for 2026.

Even more impressive is that they are actually rationing chips because demand outstrips supply. Anyone who has taken Economics 101 understands that this gives Micron great pricing power leading to thriving profit margins.

One more feather in their cap is that they are the ONLY maker of memory chips based in the US. This is vital as semiconductors are now considered a critical part of the national defense and this gives Micron a favored position when it comes to future contracts and tariff negotiations.

All in all, this is my favorite tech stock for 2026 because of truly explosive growth and still woefully undervalued shares. That is a combination that doesn't come around often and you would be wise to take advantage while the getting is good.

What To Do Next?

Micron Technology (MU) is just one of 20 stellar stocks found in my Zen Investor portfolio.

And that portfolio is up +20.85% so far in 2026…yes even as the S&P 500 is treading water.

How is that possible?

Investors are running away from overvalued junk and clamoring towards undervalued stocks with strong fundamentals.

Micron was my Stock of the Week selection on 12/15/25 when shares only traded for $237.50. This proved to be perfect timing as shares soared 64% by the end of January.

What’s even better are those who appreciated the concept of Smart Leverage…that being to use appropriately priced in the money options. This would have increased the gains to 287% in the same time frame.

This is just one of many examples of how to apply Smart Leverage to the best Zen Rated stocks to enjoy superior performance and actually lower risk.
