Cardinal Health (CAH): 1 Stock for a Better Nights Sleep

Cardinal Health (CAH) was up over 2% on Thursday when the overall market cratered.

Truly this healthcare stock is the cure to recent market volatility and should continue to quietly outperform for months, if not years, to come. The chart below simplifies the story about what is so special about this company.

This chart tells you a lot about the consistency of earnings growth for CAH. First is noting that all the colored dotted lines show you that year over year they have enjoyed steady earnings growth for a long time.

Better still is that each line keeps bending up and to the right. This goes hand in hand with the 16 straight earnings beats. Meaning they keep topping expectations with earnings estimates moving ever higher.

And yes, this chart also shows how that earnings momentum translated into consistent market outperformance of this stock over the last 5 years. That includes the bear market of 2022 when it ended the year in positive territory…not many can say that.

Add it up and it's easy to understand why this is my Stock of the Week selection.

The Zen Ratings just confirms their stellar investment profile:

Top 32% AI Factor

Top 29% Financials

Top 27% Value

Top 18% Momentum

Top 14% Growth

Top 12% Safety

Top 7% Sentiment

Yes, all 7 of the Component Grades are in the top third of all stocks. All strength and no weakness clarifies why this stock had no problem getting into the plus column Thursday when most every stock around it plummeted.

This is not meant to be my most exciting pick. This is meant to be the stock to anchor your portfolio in these troubled times so you can sleep easier.

What To Do Next?

Cardinal Health (CAH) is just one of 20 stellar stocks found in my Zen Investor portfolio.

It is now up 35% since June. Exactly the kind of steady, calm outperformance we want during these rockier times. And that is not the only stock in my portfolio with these stoic qualities.

Please note that the Zen Investor portfolio continues to handily beat the S&P 500 this year. After the recent sell off that spread has widened to greater than 5 to 1 so far this year.

I know that sounds like a used car sales pitch which is why I invite you to check out my daily performance tracking here. (focus on column K)
