Aveanna Healthcare (AVAH) is a truly unique healthcare provider has popped up in a few of my videos on YouTube over the past couple months. I find the investment story compelling and that is why I recently added it to my Zen Investor portfolio.
Let’s take it from the top.
They are a national home based healthcare provider operating in 350 locations with over 30,000 caregivers. They specialize in providing home care for children with complex conditions.
The reason this is a growth business is that previously these children would have been in hospitals that cost 3 to 5 times as much. This is unattractive to the insurance companies preferring home care.
On the other side, the parents would much prefer to provide the comfort of home to their children as a better environment in which to heal.
This is a powerful combination leading to impressive growth prospects that have not fully materialized in the shares. This explains why the average Wall Street analyst target of $10 points to 54% upside in the year ahead. While the street high target of $12.50 points to an almost doubling of shares from current levels.
Of course the Zen Ratings appreciate the fundamental merit of this firm. Saying it’s an A rating is not strong enough given this profile:
Top 18% Safety
Top 18% Financial
Top 10% Sentiment
Top 9% Growth
Top 7% Value
Top 1% Overall (not just in the top 5% like we always discuss with A rated stocks...but top 1%).
Generally, I seek safety in my healthcare picks. But in this one we get that plus growth and tremendous value.
That is a very appealing combination that makes it well suited for just about any market environment. Plus you can really back up the truck to buy shares now trading under $7.
