3 Stocks to Watch Instead of Robinhood (HOOD)

Here’s another pandemic blast from the past: Robinhood (NASDAQ: HOOD).

Fast forward to 2024, and HOOD’s in the headlines again, this time for its impending inclusion in the S&P 500. This propelled the stock up by more than 15%, and the news has been hard to avoid. This is on top of the fact that HOOD’s share price has also been rising (mostly) steadily but rapidly since April.

However, despite the attention (or perhaps in part due to it), Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD) isn’t necessarily the best stock to consider right now. With a Zen Rating of C, HOOD is in the middle of the pack and perhaps not the first choice for your portfolio right now.

There are other options in the Capital Market Industry that our Zen Ratings system has determined are more deserving of your attention. Here are three of them:

A note from our sponsors...

Here's the Best Day to Buy Stocks Did you know the S&P 500 has a 100% history of soaring, beginning on one particular day every fall? We call this the "Green Day phenomenon." It works on 5,000 stocks. For example, Nvidia has a 100% history of soaring beginning on one particular day every single year. Click here to see the green days for 7 major stocks today.

1. BGC Group (NASDAQ: BGC)

The brokerage and tech company BGC has international reach plenty of diversification in its markets and businesses, and recently had a good Q2 revenue report.

While it’s stock price has been relatively stable over the course of the last year, BGC may be a stock to look at now before it’s too late. Its Component Grades indicate potential for growth, a price history that our AI system indicates is indicative of positive future results, and potential undervaluation.

2. Bitcoin Depot (NASDAQ: BTM)

While cryptocurrency and related companies are not the most stable investments, there are opportunities to be found in companies that have their financial records in order and can manage some of the associated risk. BTM looks to be one of those, adapting to changes and working on expansion.

Based on the Component Grades above, BTM shows excellent growth potential with signs of excellent financial health. Note that as expected, this won’t be a portfolio pick for the faint of heart.

3. Oppenheimer Holdings (NYSE: OPY)

Offering brokerage services, financial planning services, and more, OPY is a longstanding industry tentpole in New York that has weathered the financial tides and shows few signs of ill health. With recent additions and integrations in the last year, OPY looks to be planning for the future still and remains a relatively stable pillar.

Notably, the Q2 2025 earnings and income for OPY showed great promise. Our Component Grades for OPY also note that momentum is stronger than average for OPY, and it is among the safer stocks we cover.
