Linde PLC Receives Strong Buy Rating and Increased Price Target by Analyst Bill Selesky

Argus Research's Bill Selesky raised their price target on Linde PLC (NYSE: LIN) by 5.23% from $440.00 to $463.00 on August 1, 2023. The analyst maintained their Strong Buy rating on the stock.

Selesky's positive outlook on Linde comes after the company's second-quarter earnings report exceeded expectations. The higher-than-expected earnings per share (EPS) were primarily driven by higher pricing and a stronger product mix. These factors more than offset the impact of asset divestitures, negative cost pass-throughs, and unfavorable currency translation.

Currently, 66.67% of top-rated analysts rate LIN as a Strong Buy, indicating a high level of confidence in the stock's performance. Additionally, 22.22% of analysts recommend buying the stock, while 11.11% see it as a Hold. No analysts recommend or strongly recommend selling the stock.

Analysts' consensus forecast suggests that LIN's upcoming year will deliver EPS of $12.80. If this forecast is accurate, it would represent a 10.85% increase in EPS on a year-over-year basis.

Investors who have held LIN shares have benefited from its strong performance. Since the last quarterly report, the stock price has surged by 124.65%. Looking at the year-over-year performance, LIN is up by 29.52%. In comparison, the broader market represented by the S&P 500 has risen by 11.12% during the same period. This indicates that LIN has outpaced the market significantly.

Bill Selesky, the analyst behind the recent rating and price target increase, is highly regarded in the Wall Street community.
