Several US-based exchanges, notably Coinbase, have delisted the cryptocurrency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it can still be bought and traded on other exchanges, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallstreetzen.com\/go\/binance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Binance<\/a>, as well as via several stock brokers such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallstreetzen.com\/go\/etoro-sign-up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eToro<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Google Ventures also made an investment in Ripple, though the amount was likely nominal. So while investing in Google Ventures\u2019 parent company, Alphabet (NASDAQ: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallstreetzen.com\/stocks\/us\/nasdaq\/googl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GOOGL<\/a>), would allow you to absorb some of the growth, I would recommend against it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, there are a lot of more important factors that affect Alphabet\u2019s stock price than the investments that Google Ventures is making, so you\u2019re unlikely to see a similar performance between Ripple and Google.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h.358hydvhry9c\"><strong>Who Owns Ripple?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ripple Labs is a private company, so it isn\u2019t required to publicly disclose its exact ownership structure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, we do know from previous funding rounds that investment groups and hedge funds such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Pantera Capital<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seagate Technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blockchain Capital<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Siam Commercial Bank<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Westpac Banking Corporation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>have contributed to the company\u2019s financing, and are likely to have an ownership stake as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h.1v5znll613bz\"><strong>Does Chris Larsen Own Ripple?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Chris Larsen is the largest single stakeholder in the company, owning a 17% stake in the venture. After him, current CEO Brad Garlinghouse is the second-largest stakeholder, with a 6.3% share. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both Larsen and Garlinghouse also own large amounts of XRP tokens, together with the ownership stake in the underlying company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h.hwasrivcj4fb\"><strong>How to Invest in Ripple Stock as a Retail Investor<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Investing in XRP, Ripple\u2019s token, is the most straightforward way for retail investors to capture some of the businesses\u2019 growth. Retail access to Ripple\u2019s stock is nonexistent &#8211; however, that\u2019s not always going to be the case, as you\u2019ll see in the next section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h.tqt8jzjm7mf\"><strong>How to Buy the Ripple IPO<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ripple has had its eyes set on an IPO for a while now &#8211; with that intention first being stated by CEO Garlinghouse at the WEF in Davos in 2020. While the SEC court case has delayed those plans, Garlinghouse is still committed to that course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the steps on how to buy Ripple stock if and when it becomes available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Create or login to your brokerage account (if you don\u2019t have one, we recommend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallstreetzen.com\/go\/etoro-sign-up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eToro<\/a>&nbsp;)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Search for Ripple<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Select how many shares you want to buy<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Place your order<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Monitor your trade<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember &#8211; as of right now, you still cannot buy Ripple stock, and it does not have a ticker symbol &#8211; but keep an eye out for news regarding the company\u2019s IPO.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-code-snippets-content\"><div class=\"disclaimer\">\r\n\t<p>eToro is a multi-asset investment platform.
