This earned Luckey \u201chall of fame\u201d status in the world of tech and entrepreneurship \u2026 All before he was 30. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At that point, he could have taken his $2 bil and lived on a boat for the rest of his life, but he didn\u2019t. Here\u2019s a timeline explaining its trajectory:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>(Setting the stage) In 2015, the Department of Defense and Homeland Security opened offices in Silicon Valley. Roughly around the same time, Luckey met Trae Stephens, who had recently left Palantir to join another Peter Thiel project, Founders Fund. Stephens was interested in funding high-tech military applications, and Luckey seemed to have the right vision. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By 2017, Anduril was networking with the Cali Homeland Security office to see if they could work together on border security. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By 2019, the company was working with the U.K. Royal Navy was using Anduril\u2019s Lattice security software as part of its modernization initiatives. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By 2020, Anduril had expanded into Seattle and was getting multimillion dollar orders for surveillance towers. Also in 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/theintercept.com\/2020\/10\/21\/google-cbp-border-contract-anduril\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Intercept<\/a>&nbsp;reported that CBP\u2019s Innovation team would be using Google Cloud technology in conjunction with Aunduril tech for virtual border walls.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By 2021, Anduril acquired Area-I, a drone company that had previously contracted for U.S. government agencies. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By 2023, Anduril acquired rocket engine company called Adranos, enabling the company to develop motors and technology for missiles nad space launches. During the same year, it also acquired Bleu Force Technologies, an autonomous aircraft developer. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By 2024, Anduril was <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingdefense.com\/2024\/04\/air-force-picks-anduril-general-atomics-for-next-round-of-cca-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">contracted by the U.S. Air Force<\/a>&nbsp;to build and test drone prototypes for the next phase of the service\u2019s&nbsp;Collaborative Combat Aircraft&nbsp;program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The takeaway? However, it does have connections with the company. Seed funding was provided by Founders Fund \u2014 Palantir co-founder Peter Thiel is a partner in the fund. Additionally, several of Anduril\u2019s founders are former Palantir employees. However, Anduril remains its own entity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h.358hydvhry9c\"><strong>Who Owns Anduril?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If Anduril isn\u2019t public, who does own it? It was founded in 2017 by Palmer Luckey and other founders including Joe Chen, Matt Grimm, and Trae Stephens. It also has a long history; Lockheed Corporation (which merged with Martin Marietta in the 90s to form LMT) has been around since the 1920s. In looking at the stock chart, it appears that LMT has performed well over the years: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Northrop Grumman (<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallstreetzen.com\/stocks\/us\/nyse\/noc\/stock-forecast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: NOC<\/a><\/strong><strong>) <\/strong>manufactures unmanned autonomous aircraft systems (e.g., high-altitude long-endurance strategic ISR systems and vertical take-off and landing tactical ISR systems), and strategic long-range strike aircraft, tactical fighter and air dominance aircraft, as well as airborne battle management and command and control systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Raytheon (<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wallstreetzen.com\/stocks\/us\/nyse\/rtx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NYSE: RTX<\/a><\/strong><strong>) <\/strong>an aerospace and defense company, provides advanced systems and services for commercial, military, and government customers worldwide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>None of these investments will run parallel to Anduril, but each offers a slice of exposure to what Anduril is about.
